The Importance of Sexuality

Sex plays a crucial role in marital relationships, but regarding it as the sole foundation or the entirety of marriage is overly one-sided. Sex is indeed an important component in maintaining the intimacy between spouses and is one way to express emotions and establish a deep connection. However, a healthy marital relationship should be built on multiple factors such as mutual understanding, respect, trust, and support.

For a romantic relationship, sex does help deepen the emotional bond between the two parties, but this doesn’t mean that a lack of sexual activity cannot sustain a relationship. Every couple is different, and what matters is that both can communicate openly about their needs and expectations. When a couple decides to get married, apart from sex, they need to consider more aspects, such as shared values, life goals, and responsibility sharing.

In married life, maintaining a moderate level of physical contact and intimacy is indeed important, but long-term neglect of a partner’s emotional needs can indeed lead to problems in the marital relationship. Statistical data shows that in some cases, a long-term lack of intimate contact may affect the stability of marriage, but this is not an absolute rule. Everyone has different levels of need for intimate relationships. The key lies in whether the couple can communicate effectively and find a suitable way of getting along for each other.

From a sociological perspective, the relationship between spouses is more private and exclusive compared to other types of interpersonal relationships, such as parent-child or friendship. This particularity determines that spouses need to maintain their relationship through more profound means, and sex, as one of these means, indeed plays a significant role. However, it is not appropriate to simply categorize sex as a “secretive act”; rather, it should be regarded as one of the important ways for couples to express love and enhance mutual understanding.

As for the practice of using traditional divination methods like Qi Men Dun Jia to predict compatibility, although it has a certain historical background in Chinese culture, in modern society, we advocate handling relationship issues based on rational thinking and personal choice. Regarding the harmony of sexual life, it involves multiple aspects such as personal health, psychological state, and mutual interaction between both parties, and should not be solely determined by divination analysis. In conclusion, in marital relationships, sex is important, but it is by no means the sole determining factor.
